NEW DELHI: The wait for a UK visa has got longer as a huge demand for the same has led to higher processing time.
During the pandemic September 2021 to September 2020, the UK has issued more than double the student visas than it did in same period previous year.
“A huge rush for India to the UK from September 2020 to September 2021. Student visas (up by) 102% (90,669) and skilled worker visas (up by) 47% (53,295) on previous year. Huge demand is why turnaround of visas is taking longer than usual. Team working through cases,” British high commissioner to India Alex Willis tweeted on Friday.
